As many of you already know, Haiti has been devastated by a major Earthquake registering over 7 on the Richter scale. Over 3 million people, a third of the nation’s population, have
been adversely affected. Even the country’s strongest buildings, including the presidential palace, a U.N. relief building and a major hospital, were toppled in the quake. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and is one of the poorest nations in the world. Considering many of the challenges the impoverished nation was already facing, this situation could be one of the major catastrophes in history. Now more than ever, the people of Haiti need our help. Please do what you can to assist in the situation, whether it is donating canned goods and other items, clothing or money. Below is a link to the Yele Haiti Earthquake Fund. Even a $1 donation will go a long way to help this devastated nation.
