The son of former Eagles quarterback and icon Randall Cunningham drowned yesterday in a hot tub in the family’s Las Vegas home. Christian Cunningham would have turned 3 in December and was found floating in the backyard hot tub around 4:30pm. CPR was attempted but unsuccessful, and Christian died at St. Rose Dominican Hospital.
Randall Cunningham was believed to be in San Diego, or on his way back to Las Vegas where his family resides. After his NFL career ended, Cunningham returned to Las Vegas where he starred for UNLV. Cunningham still holds the school record for career passing yards with 8,020. Cunningham became an ordained minister in 2004 and opened Remnant Ministries later that year. Cunningham often held baptisms in the hot tub where his son was found.
Cunningham and his wife Felicity have three other children: Randall II, Vashti and Grace.
Although Police do not expect foul play, abuse and neglect detectives are further investigating the incident.
Uristocrats and Philadelphians alike will surely hold the Cunninghams in thought and prayer.
