adidas has long been known for “Celebrating Originality” in the worlds of music, art, sport and style. This tradition continues with Lollapalooza this year as adidas Originals has signed on to sponsor the much anticipated music festival taking place in Chicago’s Grant Park August 6-8, 2010. Headliners include Lady Gaga, The Strokes and Arcade Fire. Adidas will be enhancing the Festival with a new kind of music and fashion experience, both on stage and off.
Live performances on the adidas MEGA stage kick off with hip-hop phenomenon and fan of the brand, B.O.B. and continue with The Walkmen, Chromeo and more who will ignite the audience with a healthy dose of hard-hitting energy and originality.
In between performances, festival attendees can check out the adidas MEGA shoe box – a life-size version of the iconic blue Originals shoe box, where guests will enter the world of MEGA – the brand new footwear collection debuting at the festival. Guests will have a chance to check out the new collection, take part in an interactive experience and beat the heat with the MEGA Cool Blast and even order the new kicks on the spot (and receive free shipping).
Lolla and adidas also teamed up with Chicago designer extraordinaire Cody Hudson (aka Struggle Inc.) to create the Lolla 2010 limited-edition commemorative tee . The exclusive limited-edition tee retails for $30 and is available in three color combos corresponding to the new adidas Originals MEGA collection debuting at Lolla. Lolla fans can pick up the limited edition tees on site at the festival, or online on www.lollapalooza.com.
