Johnson’s next announcement will be whether he plans to return to Plainfield HS for his fall campiagn… or defect to Montrose Christian Academy in Rockville, Md. for his senior year.
Johnson was quoted, “I like their style of play. They have a good coach in Jay Wright. I like the players and the environment. The fans are cool. I thought it was a great fit for me.
Johnson continued, “It’s the spot that fits me well. I can learn some things and hopefully it can get me to the next level. My thing is just to go in and be hungry and humble and work hard and the sky’s the limit.”
Johnson’s verbal commitment is the second for the c/o 2011, following that of 6-3 shooting guard Achraf Yacoubou from Long Island (N.Y.) Lutheran.
