Jay-z’s Unplugged album held me down while I was in high school. That was the age of putting an album in the CD Player and playing it on end for months on end. The album was great because it was the closest we got to a Jay-z Greatest Hits album back then. It was doubly amazing because it featured The Roots as the backing band on all the songs. This was one of my favorite songs on the entire album. It gave Jaguar Wright a chance to shine and the Roots were phenomenal as always. You cannot say you’re a Jay-z fan and not appreciate this song. The great thing about this album was it sold a lot more than some rappers’ solo albums back then. It sold 600,000 copies and was recorded live during the taping of a MTV Unplugged 2.0 episode on November 18, 2001.
