We take a look at Neighborhood’s latest lookbook for their Spring/Summer 2011 collection entitled “Flash Back.” The collection is featured in the new Neighborhood Magazine Volume 7, the collection is a mix of classic American inspired heritage styles and modern fabrics.
In 1994, Shinsuke Takizawa was involved in motorcycles and the surrounding counter culture when he started the brand in Harajuku, Tokyo.The concept of “basic clothing created by digesting unique interpretations of elements from motorcycles, military, outdoor, trad, etc. and also suggesting this lifestyle” is the base for all products and projects which NEIGHBORHOOD is involved with, and always lives in the themes for the seasons.
Damage modification processed denim updated each season, leather jackets with the plentiful savor of motorcycles, and bags made by Yoshida & Co. since the brand’s start. These are all iconic items of NEIGHBORHOOD. Also, the lifestyle is broadly supported by the creation of the kid’s line, NEIGHBORHOOD Quarter.
In 2009, LUKER BY NEIGHBORHOOD started as a separate line of NEIGHBORHOOD developing a different approach.Additionally, the item lineup includes movie coupling and collaborations with many brands such as Stussy, A Bathing Ape, Adidas, Fragment, and Visvim. The scope of activity is being broadened.
Currently the brand is available starting off at the NEIGHBORHOOD Tokyo flagship store, the 6 exclusive HOODS stores found across Japan, and also sold at select shops across Japan and all over the world. In 2008, the exclusive store HOODS Hong Kong opened in the Central District. Many projects are in progress including the continuing overseas development.
