Wawa Hoagie Day, Today on Independence Mall!

Today is Wawa Hoagie Day!  Wawa Welcome America continues today with Wawa Hoagie day on Independence Mall in front of the Independence Visitor’s Center.  Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter will join Philadelphia police officers and firefighters, Wawa associates, members of the USO, members of the Pennsylvania National Army Guard and Pennsylvania Nation Air Guard and hoagie-lovers across the Region in  serving a 4.5 ton Hoagie salute on Independence Mall in front of the Independence Visitor’s Center.

The original Wawa Hoagie day occurred in front of City Hall in 1992.  Back then a 500-foot Hoagie was served free to the public.  This year marks the second year of the return of Wawa Hoagie day after a 10-year hiatus.
