Philadelphia Cleans Up; Vermont Sees ‘Catastrophe’ Ahead
Hurricane Irene struck the East Coast and wielded her fury on the Northeast. The hardest hit major city appeared to be Philadelphia, where some rivers flowed 15 feet above normal. Vermont’s governor said the state had “a full-blown flooding catastrophe.”

The MTV VMAs
The MTV awards went down last night and as usual it featued a litany of stars and performances. The highlight (even though it was underwhelming) was the performance of Jay-z and Kanye as they performed “Otis” from Watch The Throne. The Lil Wayne performance was widely panned as bad. Apparently we all had questions as to why Weezy chose to perform auto-tune.
