Danish designer Ilse Jacobsen’s collection of handmade rubber boots available in Philadelphia for the first time

If last week’s winter storm was any indication, we can assume that we will be in for a wet winter. That being said, everyone needs a great pair of boots to brave the cold temperatures and Danish designer Ilse Jacobsen’s collection of handmade rubber boots are available in Philadelphia for the first time at Nordstrom.

Ilse Jacobsen’s handmade boots in a dozen delicious colors— from neon to navy— are the cream of the crop. Consisting of 27 different components, the boots are made of 100% natural rubber and lined with cotton fleece for warmth and comfort. What’s more, placements of eyelets and hooks are measured and mounted by hand. In three heights – short, medium and tall – they retail from $169 to $199. Nordstrom carries a selection of all three in store and also online.

But there’s more to the collection. The designer’s waterproof rain coats made from Teflon-coated polyester have taped seams and rubber zippers for added protection, as well as reflector logos. The hooded version in rubber coated polyester/cotton comes with a matching rain hat.

Ilse is inspired by her Scandinavian roots. With headquarters north of Copenhagen along one of Denmark’s most breathtaking white beaches, she has a preference for rustic beauty and natural materials that emphasize creativity, innovation and quality.
