The Latest about Big K.R.I.T.'s Next Mixtape: 4Eva & a Day

The Latest from Big K.R.I.T. and his next Mixtape: 4Eva & a Day

2011 was a big year for Mississippi rapper Big K.R.I.T. including features on numerous tracks (See The Roots “Make My”, B.O.B.’s “5 on the Kush”), released an acclaimed mixtape Return of 4Eva, which was considered on of the best of the year and even did some work behind the boards (See T.I.’s “I’m Flexin”). Needless to say, the anticipation for a Big K.R.I.T. album is high. However, a release of a mixtape will have to do and 4eva & A Day will be the next in the “4Eva” series with a scheduled release day of February 20. We won’t have to wait that long for the first single, “I Got This” which will be out on February 1st.

Big K.R.I.T. also gave an update on his Def Jam album début Live From the Underground, with the words its “pretty much done.” He also alluded to his samples’ being a part of the hold up in the release of his first major label album scheduled for a June 2012 release.

“I sample a lot, and it just took some more time than I thought to get clearances,” he explained. “I promise you it’s going to be worth it.”

So in the meantime, we will wait and pick up 4Eva & a Day when it releases in the next month. We even got a little hint about what to expect on this mixtape: “take it back to a lot more lyrical content. Being out on the road, you meet a lot of people and learn about their stories and their lives, what touched them. I really wanna touch on that.”

Meanwhile, watch the video for “Money on the Floor“, featuring 8Ball & MJG and 2 Chainz, which may be on Live From the Underground
