Guess the cut couldn’t stay vaulted until its May 1st iTunes date. Credit DJ Prostyle for that. Much better than “Another Black Girl Lost.” Life Is Good, coming July 17th.

This is what “Black Girl Lost 2″ should’ve been. This afternoon, Power 105.1′s DJ Prostyle let loose Nas‘ new single, “Daughters”. Produced by No I.D., this is something daddy and his little girl can appreciate. After the jump Esco speaks on the making of the record with Hot 97. Lyrics here.

The pride of Queensbridge, Nas, has dropped the latest single from his upcoming Def Jam offering. Entitled “Daughters”, the No I.D.-produced track sees Nas sending a message to all those fathers out there raising little girls. Escobar’s tenth studio album, Life Is Good, is due out on July 17 while the music video for“The Don” is set to release tomorrow.

A new Nas track has surfaced here with Daughters. Nas’ new stuff has been very on point and we can’t wait for his new album to drop. This new track discusses what it’s like to be a father and seeing your daughter grow up. Anyway, give it a listen above.

Nas has been on a particularly ferocious tear lately, with the recent bangers “Nasty” and “The Don” doing more damage than anything he’s done in a while. Now he’s got a new one called “Daughters,” a song about the old-man confusion that you feel when your kid starts to become an actual human being and when embarrassing-to-everybody pictures of her show up on the internet (something that actually happened to Nas pretty recently). Nas can get pretty clumsy when he gets into sincere territory like this, but this one is actually pretty heartfelt and lovable. Nice No I.D. beat, too. Listen to it below.

Nas’s album finally has a proper release date, which is awesome news. It’s called Life Is Good, and it’s out 7/17.
