President Barack Obama paid a visit to the Jimmy Fallon Show on Wednesday night and went ahead and slow jammed the news with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots. The president continues to appeal to a younger generation by taking his message to them on mediums they identify with. The president stepped in for the regular news jammer Brian Williams, and proceeded to speak on his position on rising Student loan rates. Jimmy Fallon, Black Thought of The Roots and POTUS went back and forth during the slow jam session which focused on the aformentioned Student loan issue.
“I’m President Barack Obama, and I, too, would like to Slow Jam the News,” said Obama before taking his place on a stool and laying out his agenda.
“What we said is simple: Now is not the time to make school more expensive for our young people,” Obama said. The enthusiastic crowd was more than on board with his suggestios as it was a mostly collegiate crowd at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
Fallon then stepped in to offer some slow jam support. “You should listen to the President,” he crooned. “Or as I like to call him, the Preezy of the United Steezy.”
The episode also featured President Obama in the guest chair as he spoke on a variety of topics ranging from his possible Republican Mitt Romney, Twitter, the Secret Service controversy in Colombia to the possible legalization of weed.
