First debuting at this years Sundance Film Festival, LUV is set to hit screens November of this year with Common leading the cast in this coming-of-age story. Set in Baltimore, the story starts with Woody, played by Michael Rainey Jr., as a young boy lacking a male role model, and his uncle Vincent, played by Common. As Vincent takes his nephew to school, he decides to instead take him out for the day and show him how to be a man. What ensues is a day full of turmoil as Vincent’s old life comes back to haunt him. Featuring stellar turns by both Common and newcomer Rainey Jr., the film directed by Sheldon Candis offers a refreshing change from the usual grittiness associated with gangland crime capers. Look for this at a silver screen near you.
