On Saturday November 10th, Move Forward Music returns with the second installment of a new monthly dance party with pioneering NYC DJ,Rich Medina (Props, Jump N’ Funk, Little Ricky’s Rib Shack) at the fast-rising independent art space, FreeCandy, in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn. The special guest for this month’s party will be Colin Mctigueand we’re excited to announce that November’s REVIVAL is powered byKarmaloop and fusicology. Also, get there early for the Captain Morgan open bar from 10-11pm.
Dubbed Revival, the monthly function will take place on the 2nd Saturday of each month, and focus on bringing back a warehouse party atmosphere to New York nightlife, where the music the DJ is playing matters more than the societal status of the patrons or the price of bottles the venue is serving. The music will be open format, carefully curated by Revival’s residents and special guest DJs, but revelers can expect to hear hip-hop, soul, funk and dance music from around the globe.
Joining Rich Medina at Revival will be local party fixture, DJ PQ (Franklin Park, Hot Jamz), a long favorite of Move Forward Music known for his steady hand and ability to service nearly any crowd with gems from his vast musical arsenal. PQ, also a star and creator of the popular online comedy series, Periods., adds his own unique flavor to the vibe that will compliment Rich Medina perfectly.
The FreeCandy arts space located at 905 Atlantic Avenue at the corner of St. James Place, is a converted car wash just blocks from where the Barclay’s Center will open up at the end of the month. The DIY venue regularly hosts art exhibitions, dance performances, and concerts, but Revival promises to bring a new and exciting energy into the space.
