With recent work like the 1040ez tax form and viagra gel his gracing the site, check out his letter to the sneaker community below as well as some of his favorites from this anniversary year.
“I want to share my personal battle and subsequent victory over cancer with both sneaker bloggers and their readers alike. 22 years ago today I was wheeled into an operating room for an 8 hour surgery to remove a malignant bone tumor from my shoulder. I emerged cancer free and forever changed. A battle with cancer is never really won it is survived, which is why we call ourselves Survivors. A day without the memory of the battle is rare, but over the years there has been one thing that has given me great happiness and allowed me to feel whole….. creating custom sneakers and designing. Perhaps it is the balance of creation versus the destruction that cancer caused in my life which brings me peace, or perhaps it is the thought of immortalizing myself and my passion with each piece I create. Whichever the case, I am eternally grateful for the chance to do what I love with unbridled passion. I want all my supporters to know how deeply they are appreciated, I am very fortunate in many ways and having them in my corner compounds my good fortune.
I wish for everyone to take a moment and realize how precious life is, and while it may be a struggle it is important to remain happy. There is so much more to life than sneakers, and at the end of the day these are just shoes. Hunt with a sense of adventure, collect with passion, trade with pride, but treat each other fairly whilst having fun being a SneakerHead. Above all else…. LOVE LIFE, CREATE ART!”
