Jay Electronica Stars in Jason Goldwatch’s Latest ‘Time Pieces’

Jay Electronica has built an audience of fans who eagerly await any news or music from the rapper. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn), the New Orleans MC’s forthcoming debut album. Shot in black and white with a Super 8 mm camera and set to the soundtrack of MCA’s “Namaste,” the latest installment in director Jason Goldwatch‘s “Time Pieces” traces the enigmatic rapper’s spiritual journey through Himalayan fog and into the villages of Nepal as he consults with a monk, delivers rice and has his face decorated with the ashes of cremated bodies. The artist is no stranger to the religious realm and has been known to frequent sacred sites like Pashupatinath Hindu Temple and the Bodinath Buddhist Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, and Goldwatch’s clip should shed some light on an artist who is himself quickly becoming something of an otherworldly figure.
