Storied artist Jeff Koons was recently bestowed the honor to reimagine the label for Chateau Mouton Rothschild – a wine estate in Bordeaux. The honor – handed down by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild – has a tradition dating back to 1945 with a new artist in charge of the image each year. Past hand-selected artists included Dali, César, Miró, Chagall, Picasso, Warhol, Soulages, Bacon and Balthus. For his contribution, Koons employed a silver pen expression on top of notable work The Birth of Venus by Boticelli resulting in a modern twist on the masterpiece. Expect to see the limited edition packaging on Chateau Mouton Rothschild bottles in the near future.
