Wonda – The Naked Girl from the Internet hosted by Brain Bandits + Gianni Lee

I rarely post music on here. Heck, I rarely download music. With everyone and their mom releasing music nowadays, it’s so hard to pay attention to even one artist unless they could find a way to stream their art. Although every once in a while, with the help of SoundCloud’s easy streaming service, you catch some very rare artists like http://uristocrat.com/2011/09/gqs-article-on-rick-ross-simple-lessons-for-bosses-dons-and-bitches/ here. Not to mention my broham cialis full stomach highly recommended it by putting his stamp on it. This tape has been out for a few months now, but I recently caught wind of it a few weeks ago as it was rereleased as a Deluxe Edition through arrested for a dui. It’s been on constant rotation since.

It’s a bit difficult to place Chicago based producer/rapper Wonda into a specific genre with all his unique tracks, but according to my iTunes you can consider this Tribal Pop. There seems be something in here for everyone to enjoy, whether you like Trap, R&B, Pop, Hip Hop, or even Trance. Probably not for the country-minded folks (sorry).

It’s very rare that you find mixtapes with mostly original production, and this just nailed it. With most of his own production, you’ll find a few well done mixes like “ArgenTina Flow” that takes cues from Justin Timberlake’s “Cry Me A River” and references Madonna’s “Don’t Cry for me Argentina”. The track “A Frank Ocean Cover” is lyrically word-for-word but utilizes an upbeat sampling of Cassie’s “Me and U”. “Cassie Can’t Love Diddy” track is another upbeat track with an electronic feel, but slows into clips from the movie “Good Will Hunting”, which gives it a nice balance. And if you’re into Baltimore Club music a Kendrick Lamar remake titled “She Killed My Vibe” is sure to please.

Some personal favorites include ArgenTina Flow, o Fiona, Jungle Hearts, Ellie’s Song, Her National Anthem, Cassie Can’t Love Diddy, and Things Won’t Change Until We Do. This is the perfect soundtrack for any smoking session or just vibing out while working.

With all that said, Wonda has a great future ahead of him and we’re excited to be working with the Chicago emcee.
