Since 2010, Hip-Hop artist Chill Moody and Producer Hank McCoy have released a mixtape on Valentine’s Day. These mixtapes were focused on the target audience of women without comprising the lyrical content and overall impact of the product (“…And They Love Us Back” 2010 and “….And They Still Loves Us Back”) 2011. In February 2012 Chill Moody and Hank McCoy enlisted the help of rising R&B star Beano for the final album of the “Lovethings” trilogy “Who Do You Love.” WDYL has received much acclaim, 30,000 downloads, and the singles “A Good Thing,” and “What’s For Breakfast” premiered on Hot 107.9 in Philadelphia.
On February 15, 2013 Chill Moody, Hank McCoy, and Beano will celebrate the 1-Year Anniversary of the release of “Who Do You Love” with a live performance and party at The Blockley powered by Villa (formerly Sneaker Villa). WDYL will be performed in its entirety, in a MTV UnPlugged like setting backed by a live band (Band 4 Higher). This event is completely free to the public (21+) and doors will open at 9pm on 2/15/13. The WDYL 1-Year Anniversary celebration will serve as the sequel to the WDYL @ Love Park performance which was an outdoor concert that took place in the Fall of 2012 at Love Park.
With performances by Chill Moody, Hank McCoy and Beano, along with special guests and a few surprises, the WDYL 1-Year Anniversary promises to be a special night. “The response we’ve received for the Who Do You Love project has been overwhelming. Our 1-Year Anniversary celebration is our way of saying ‘Thanks’ and expressing our gratitude to our fans.” said Chill Moody.
