Fresh off the heals of her #FockLuve Mixtape, Philadelphia based DJ, AfroDJiak returns with Bracketology: The Sweet 16 Mixtape. Her latest effort employs the opinions of her fanbase via social networking outlets (ie. Twitter, Facebook, etc.) to select winners of match ups that feature some of today’s hottest hip-hop artists. Fans will determine which artist moves from The Sweet 16, to the Elite 8, to The Final 4 and on to the Championship round. The Championship round takes place on this mix put together by AfroDJiak. Afrodjiak has become a ﬁxture in the Philadelphia nightlife scene, playing every note worthy venue in the city. She credits her success to solid family roots, hard work, a faith-ﬁlled vision and determination. AfroDJiak’s conspicuous mixes and head-nodding blends have ultimately assisted her in becoming one of Philadelphia’s most sought after deejays. In the past, she has worked to expand her skills as a deejay and artist through one-on-one work with her peers, teaching youth workshops and with internships throughout the city. She has assisted in recording studios such as The Khyber Sounds and The Batcave Studios, as well as assisted at the ofﬁces of OkayPlayer.
AfroDJiak has created a dynamic career as an energetic deejay, producer and promoter whose effectiveness proliferates various media entities and many more to come. AfroDJiak has spun alongside many notable Philadelphia based and regional deejays.She has been featured on events with artists such as Black Thought, The Cool Kids, The Money Makin’ Jam Boys, and Jesse Boykins III among other notable artists. She has been requested to participate in two of Philadelphia’s most well-known festivals,The Black Lily Film Music Festival, the 2009 Ladies of Hip Hop Festival and more recently The 2012 Roots Picnic. She served as a radio deejay for the “Da Cave” Radio Show, a Wednesday night 3-hour program on Drexel University’s own WKDU 91.7 FM radio,as well as a guest personality and resident deejay for 100.3 FM’s “Batcave Radio” with P-Funk, Dona D and Ruggedness.
