With humble beginnings at her local Philadelphia church, R&B singer and backup dancer GoGo enrolled at Prince Music Theater’s Rainbow Company at age 10 before earning a degree in Music Business from Millersville University. As a student, she interned at Philadelphia International Records and later worked as an assistant for Def Jam.
If she looks familiar, GoGo received her big break after joining Lady Gaga’s Monster Ball Tour as a background singer/dancer. She also previously opened for big names like Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Fabolous and Kendrick Lamar.
Earlier this year, GoGo headlined Hot 107.9’s “She’s Next” concert in Philly and opened for Brandy at the singer’s March 1 show at the Theater of Living Arts—the very same venue that GoGo headlined (and sold out!) a month later.
