Philly, a little over a month ago we brought you an interview with two Philadelphia hip-hop greats, DJ Jazzy Jeff and his protege Dayne Jordan. For our exclusive, we went behind-the-scenes and captured Jeff and Dayne at work in the lab and got the deets on their then-forthcoming collab. Luckily for us, the wait for this project is now over.
Yesterday, after a year of quietly releasing new music and videos, the duo has finally dropped Dayne’s new EP, In Progress. The project is the compilation of nine tracks and includes Dayne’s buzz-worthy singles “All About The Art”, “Fellow” and “I Want It All.” It also includes new tracks like “Wash It Down” and “Git It Back” to round out the EP.
And, trust us — Philly is definitely representing on this project music — from "All About the Art" which features Questlove on drums and James Poyser on keys, to "Lost" which has fellow Philly up-and-comer Ebony Joi lacing the track with her vocals.
We’re guessing you’re ready to hear the project, right? You can download it on Dayne’s website, or you can listen and download the project using the below SoundCloud player. Also, be sure to watch our exclusive in-studio interview with DJ Jazzy Jeff and Dayne Jordan to hear insights on the projects and learn more about Jeff and Dayne’s favorite cheesesteak spot.
Spoiler alert: DJ Jazzy Jeff is all about famous South Street cheesesteak joint, Ishakabibbles.
