The nominations for the 2015 Grammy Awards continue to roll in. Rather than do a big announcement of everything all at once, this year, the Recording Academy has decided to reveal the categories slowly throughout the day, via the Twitter accounts of various celebrities. All except for Album of the Year: that announcement will be made tonight during the "A Very Grammy Christmas" special on CBS.
"Fancy" by Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX, "Chandelier" by Sia, "Stay With Me" (Darkchild version) by Sam Smith, "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift, and "All About That Bass" by Meghan Trainor are nominated for Record of the Year.
The Song of the Year nominees are "Chandelier", "Shake It Off", "All About That Bass", "Stay With Me", and Hozier’s "Take Me to Church". (Sorry, "Fancy".)
Haim, Bastille, Sam Smith, Iggy Azeala, and Brandy Clark have been nominated for Best New Artist, as announced by Alanis Morissette.
Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig announced the Best Alternative Music Album nominees, which are Arcade Fire, Jack White, St. Vincent, Alt-J, and Cage the Elephant.
Jack White, Beck, Ryan Adams, the Black Keys, and Paramore are up for Best Rock Song. Weirdly, Jared Leto got to announce the Best Rock Album nominees: U2, the Black Keys, Beck, Ryan Adams, and Tom Petty.
LL Cool J announced the Best Rap Performance nominations: Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Childish Gambino, Lecrae.
Four categories were revealed on "CBS This Morning" by Pharrell and Ed Sheeran: Record of the Year, Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Country Album. Ryan Seacrest announced the Best Pop Solo performance nominees (John Legend, Sia, Sam Smith, Taylor Swift, Pharrell) on his show.
Other nominees include Beyoncé, Pharrell, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, and Ariana Grande. Find the full list on the Grammys’ Twitter.
The 57th Grammy Awards take place on February 8, 2015.
