The-Dream is keeping with the theme of royalty for the release of his upcoming projects. Later this year, he’s expected to let loose two new EPs titled Crown and Jewel. Luckily, fans won’t be getting the same type of sound on these releases. During an interview with Vibe, he went in to detail on how these EPs are set to showcase two entirely different sounds.
“Crown is more modern R&B, and Jewel will be more what you might think of as my songwriter side, the songs I might have given to other artists before,” The-Dream said. “If you put me in a box, Jewel is more what you get when that box is open. But I’m not limited by any box I’ve been put in—every year I’m expanding and growing, and it makes for a more interesting plot.”
Back in December, the Grammy award-winning producer put out his T.I.-assisted single, “That’s My Shit." The record, which fits perfectly into his catalogue of hits, captures him in one of his most confident moments as he steals the attention of another man’s woman.
The Crown EP is set to drop on March 31. Get “That’s My Shit” on iTunes now.
