Last month Snapchat appeased users who want to watch snaps over and over by introducing a new pay to replay feature. Today, the video sharing app has added a new set of filters called "Speed Modifiers" for videos filmed on iOS or Android.
Snapchat’s "Speed Modifiers" let you alter your videos with slow motion, fast-forward, or rewind effects. To use them on one of your snaps, just swipe sideways when you’re done filming to see them in action.
The new speed-altering filter options will undoubtedly add to the range of content users can create. The slow motion filter will be great for things like capturing a killer crossover in a basketball game, while the fast-forward filter will enhance prank videos.
In addition to the new filters, Snapchat’s latest update offers a 3D Touch capability for the iPhone 6S and 6S+. The added feature enables users to pull up the options for sending a snap or adding a new friend via a strong tap on your Snapchat home screen.
Snapchat’s new features are clearly intended to compete with Instagram’s recently launched Boomerang app, which lets users make gif-like videos out of bursts of photos.
