The Roots‘ mark on music is unparalled—and now, the Legendary Roots Crew’s mark on their hometown will be forever, officially.
Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts is lined with Walk of Fame plaques honoring the city’s legacy of music icons. On Monday, October 26, the Philadelphia Music Alliance will honor several Walk of Fame inductees with plaques along Broad Street, including The Roots.
The iconic hip-hop band will be presented with a Walk of Fame plaque at 11 a.m. at Broad and Spruce Streets. The public is invited to watch history in the making and to welcome the 2015 Class of Inductees onto its Walk of Fame at the morning plauque ceremony.
There will also be a culminating gala later in the night at The Fillmore Philadelphia in which The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon will induct the GRAMMY-winning band into the Walk of Fame. (Note: The gala is sold out.)
