Nike Reveals the Design for a 3.2-Million-Square-Foot Expansion to Its Beaverton Headquarters

In line with Nike’s massive growth over the past few years, the sportswear giant has announced plans to expand its world headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon by a whopping 3.2 million square feet. To accommodate the increase in real estate, a triumvirate of local architectural firms — ZGF Architects, SRG Partnership and Skylab Architecture — will be responsible for the design, which will naturally take inspiration from human movement. "We [must] relentlessly evolve how we inspire our own teams and design environments that foster chemistry and collaboration," says Nike CEO Mark Parker. "Our expanding World Headquarters reflects the best of Nike’s culture — a place where we obsess the athlete and invent future products and experiences for consumers everywhere.”
This is the latest in a string of upgrades to the Nike Beaverton campus over the years, doubling its footprint in 11 years from its opening in 1990. The latest expansion is slated for a completion date of 2018.
