Anderson .Paak has had a very successful year up to this point, as he released the critically acclaimed album Malibu and was selected to be a 2016 XXL Freshman. A couple weeks back we heard him join forces with Mac Miller for his latest single “Dang!” and today, .Paak returns with visuals for Malibu standouts “The Season/ Carry Me” and “The Waters.”
The video is directed by .Paak and Chris Le, and just as one would expect, it is a very animated and compelling watch. The video begins with Anderson picking strawberries in the rain and then delivering soup to “Hell’s Kitchen.” A tongue-in-cheek political statement comes later in the video when .Paak runs into a Donald Trump-looking garbage monster. The peak of the visual occurs when .Paak is happily baptized by some white-robed individuals. It concludes joyously, as Anderson is joined by BJ the Chicago Kid in front of an underwater backdrop as they perform "The Waters."
Anderson is currently on the Malibu World Tour, but is not taking a break from recording new music. Paak and Knxwledge have been working on a collaborative album that is set to be released later this year.
