A Young LeBron James Gets Tatted in New Nike Ad

After picking up the Cleveland Cavaliers and carrying them on his back to the NBA Finals, LeBron James is the subject of Nike’s latest ad campaign — albeit in teen form.

The ad shows a young CGI James walk into a tattoo parlor and ask for a tattoo. The tattooist scoffs, asking, “You sure this is what you want?” But young LeBron is sure, for sure. Later, we discover what he wanted tattooed was “Chosen 1,” the tag given to him when he was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated at just 17 years old.

James really does have the phrase tattooed on his back in real life, which is presumably where the idea for the Nike ad comes from. Considering the Cavs star has now been to the NBA Finals eight times in a row, it’s safe to say he’s lived up to the “Chosen One” billing given to him 16 years ago.
