Uristocrat Presents Summer School Featuring: Kidz in the Hall, Dephonic, Stalley, Akilles, Writtenhouse, Asaad and Sock the Rapper

Kidz In The Hall
Kidz in the Hall is an American hip hop duo from Chicago, Illinois. Group members Jabari Evans (Naledge) and Michael Aguilar (Double-O) met in 2000 during a talent show at the University of Pennsylvania. They began recording songs, making demos, and performing at local shows. That eventually led to Double-0 and Naledge forming Kidz in the Hall. The group’s most recent album Land of Make Believe was released on March 9, 2010 and features guests MC Lyte, Just Blaze, Chip tha Ripper, Donnis, Amanda Diva and co-production by Just Blaze and Picnic Tyme. Kidz in the Hall just embarked on a national tour that sold out venues across the country.

Dephonic
As Philly’s favorite upcoming act, Dephonic has a cool & smooth style that takes the bounce of hip hop and merges it with memorable indie music & melodies. Dephonic performed a sold out show at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia with State Radio in January 2010. This was followed by two sold out dates with Snoop Dogg at Bates College in Lewiston, ME and the TLA in Philadelphia. Dephonic has also recently performed with WALE, Plain White T’s, Asher Roth, Colin Munroe, the Young Gunz, Sugar Hill Gang, and Mr. Lif.

Stalley
Recently named a rising icon by Complex, Stalley has opened for hip hop heavyweights such as Jay Electronica, Mos Def, Ghostface Killah, Method Man & Redman and being featured on select dates on the Rock the Bells and Sneaker Pimps tours. Stalley is also featured on Currensy’s forthcoming Universal/Def Jam/Rocafella release Pilot Talk and Ski Beatz’s forthcoming project 24 Hour Karate School. He also has 2 videos (“Do It Big” featuring the Cool Kids and “Address” featuring Curren$y) in rotation on MTV Jams. Stalley has also collaborated on tracks with Mos Def, Jay Electronica, Curren$y and the Cool Kids. Stalley performed at numerous showcases at 2010’s South by Southwest Festival

Writtenhouse
Writtenhouse is the change in music that hip hop enthusiast have been pinning for and the fresh sound that aficionados long for. The band is a live collaboration of a dynamic MC, Charlie K, backed two producers, Chris Conway and Kush Shalimar, plus hypeman extraordinaire Somersville Sleeves. As a touring hip hop band, Writtenhouse has traveled far and wide to to make deep, lasting connections with fans who they affectionately call “family”. The group was recently named one of Philly 360′s 2010 creative ambassadors. They have also opened for The Roots, Method Man, Redman, and De la Soul.

Akilles
With his addictive style and undeniable star quality, reggae singer/songwriter/emcee AKiLLES gives new meaning to the term “triple-threat.” Best known for his mesmerizing live performances with his Philly-based band of musical all-stars, AKiLLES has been lighting up stages with his unparalleled crowd-winning gusto. His music is a blend of reggae and soul akin to some legendary influences, but this ain’t your average curried-goat-and-rice rap. AKiLLES’ songs are classics (c/o Pork Fried Productions) with a big sound and captivating hooks that will have you singing along after the very first listen.
