According to ESPN: Trae Young Traded to Washington Wizards

The Atlanta Hawks have traded four-time All-Star guard Trae Young to the Washington Wizards, ending his eight-season tenure with the franchise. Washington sends CJ McCollum and Corey Kispert to Atlanta in the deal. Young, 27, is in the fourth year of a five-year, $215 million contract with a player option for 2026-27 worth $49 million.

Young missed 22 games this season with an MCL sprain. In 10 games played, he averaged 19.3 points and 8.9 assists on 41.5/30.5/86.3 shooting splits. The Hawks posted a 15-12 record without him versus 2-8 with him in the lineup. The Hawks declined to extend Young this offseason. Atlanta now builds around Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels, Onyeka Okongwu, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, all signed through at least 2027-28. Young leaves Atlanta as the franchise's all-time leader in assists and three-pointers. He led the Hawks to the 2021 Eastern Conference Finals and three consecutive playoff appearances from 2021-2023.
