Lagos-based cultural festival HOMECOMING has partnered directly with Nike on two Air Max Plus colorways set to release in 2026, marking the event's deepest footwear collaboration with the Swoosh to date.
Founded in 2017 by executive Grace Ladoja, HOMECOMING operates as a gathering point for music, sport, and global African culture out of Lagos, Nigeria. Nike has increased its presence at the festival in recent years—2025 saw Nigerian artist Olaolu Slawn debut his Air Max 90 colorways at the event, followed by the Air Afrique x Nike Air Max RK61 release. This year, HOMECOMING moves from platform partner to direct collaborator on a Nike silhouette.
Both Air Max Plus colorways feature modified design elements, including elevated sidewave structures that sit higher off the upper in a manner closer to the VaporMax, along with textured, snakeskin-like mesh panels. Each pair comes equipped with three lace options.
The first colorway (IM4960-001) arrives in Black/University Red-Court Green, drawing from a Pan-African palette that aligns with the festival's mission of diaspora reconnection. The second (IM4960-800) lands in Safety Orange/Black-Bright Mandarin, applying a fiery gradient across its sidewalls.
Both colorways are priced at $190. HOMECOMING takes place April 2–6, 2026, with the wide launch expected to coincide with the festival. Based on precedent from 2025, when co-designed apparel was made available online, the collection may also be accessible beyond Lagos.
