Aimé Leon Dore x The North Face: When Street Luxury Meets Mountain Heritage

Aimé Leon Dore x The North Face: When Street Luxury Meets Mountain Heritage

The marriage of outdoor performance and urban sophistication has produced some of fashion's most compelling collaborations, but few feel as intentional or emotionally resonant as the new partnership between Aimé Leon Dore and The North Face.

Set to launch September 19th, this six-piece collection transforms iconic TNF silhouettes through the refined lens of New York City's most thoughtful menswear brand. But this isn't just another streetwear collab—it's a meditation on heritage, elevation, and the transformative power of premium materials.

Beyond Jackets: A Complete Vision

The collaboration extends far beyond outerwear. The Firefighter Jacket emerges as perhaps the collection's dark horse—a three-layer waterproof shell featuring metal toggle clasps that mimic firefighter turnout gear, complete with D-rings and ballistic nylon overlays.

Even accessories receive the ALD treatment: the Borealis Backpack gets constructed from ballistic nylon, while the North Dome Rope Bag receives a leather upgrade. The Verto Alpine Shoe trades its typical materials for a leather upper with waterproof GORE-TEX 3L membrane.

The Teddy Santis Philosophy

For Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis, this collaboration feels deeply personal. He remembers purchasing his first Nuptse jacket from Dr. Jays in Astoria, Queens in 1997—a connection that transforms this partnership from commercial exercise to love letter.

"If you look at our partnership with Porsche and with New Balance, these are real [long-term] partnerships, and we're hoping The North Face becomes that for us as well," Santis explains. This strategic approach to collaborations has made ALD a coveted partner for brands seeking authentic cultural resonance rather than fleeting hype.

Premium Materials, Accessible Pricing

Priced between $180 and $800, the collection positions itself in the accessible luxury space. The Casentino wool, ballistic nylon, and leather treatments justify the premium while remaining attainable for the collection's target audience.

The collection will be available through Aimé Leon Dore's New York and London locations, its website, and select The North Face stores in Asia, ensuring global accessibility despite limited production.
