Air Jordan 1 High OG 'Love Letter' Releases August 1 for $185

The Air Jordan 1 High OG "Love Letter" (DZ5485-201) releases August 1 for $185, inspired by Michael Jordan's open farewell to basketball — the letter he published four days after his final NBA game with the Washington Wizards on April 16, 2003, signing off with the line "Much Love and Respect." The same $185 tier carries the next OG colorway on the calendar, the Air Jordan 1 High OG "Royal" arriving October 10, and follows the Air Jordan 1 High OG "Shop Jacket", which shipped in May at the same price point.

The build

Black suede covers the toe box, eyestay, and Swoosh overlays. Shadow Brown nubuck and Light British Tan suede wrap the heel counter and collar, pebbled to mimic the grain of a basketball. A white tumbled-leather base holds it all together, with a Team Red outsole underneath. The materials were chosen to develop patina over time, gaining creases and wear with use.

The details

Jordan's actual words are printed on the inner tongue: "Since then, you've become so much more than just a ball to me. You've become more than just a court." The medial collar on the left shoe carries a debossed "Much Love and Respect." A leather basketball-shaped hangtag ships in the box, which itself is wrapped in a pebbled basketball print. The pair releases via Nike SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers, including Foot Locker, Finish Line, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Hibbett, in full-family sizing.
