Jordan Brand releases the Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Howard University" (style code IX8478-410) on October 1, 2026 for $155 through select Jordan Brand retailers, Nike.com, and SNKRS. A limited SNKRS Pass release went out September 17 ahead of the wider retail drop, according to SoleRetriever.

The shoe wears a satin Midnight Navy upper that "reflects light with a different bit of color depending on the angle," per SoleRetriever's reporting, with Howard's school colors carried through diagonal blue-and-white striping on the tongue and red accenting the Swoosh and tongue border. Bison branding appears on the heel, and the right insole bears "67," a reference to Howard's 1867 founding. Sneaker Files reports the pair releases in adult sizing.

It's the second public Air Jordan 1 Low OG built around Howard University, following a 2024 release that drew on Howard's color palette but lacked official university branding, according to House of Heat. Jordan Brand and Howard signed a 20-year partnership in 2022 that made Howard the first HBCU to land an official deal with the brand, a relationship that has since expanded into uniforms, apparel carrying the Jumpman logo, and player exclusives across the Air Jordan 1, 4, and 6 lines, according to Sneaker Files. Howard alumna and Bronx rapper Lady London debuted the 2026 colorway ahead of release, according to House of Heat.

The Howard drop lands the same fall as Jordan Brand's Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Garden" on September 26, part of a busy 2026 calendar for the silhouette that has also included the Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Banned" in May. Howard's broader partnership with the Jumpman has extended beyond footwear, including the Wales Bonner x Howard University "Howard Universal" project covering the school's cultural legacy, and apparel and player-exclusive sneakers tied to Howard's basketball and football programs, per Sneaker Files. The 2022 partnership was notable at the time as the first of its kind for an HBCU anywhere in Jordan Brand's roster of institutional deals, which otherwise runs through major Division I athletic programs.
