Bad Bunny Releases New Song "ALAMBRE PúA" After Live Debut at Puerto Rico Residency: Stream

Bad Bunny has surprise-released his new single "ALAMBRE PúA" on Monday (July 14), marking his first new music since dropping his chart-topping album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" this past January. The track comes just days after the reggaeton superstar debuted it live during his historic Puerto Rico residency.

Live Debut Creates Buzz

The song made its debut as the opening number for Bad Bunny's 30-date residency "No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí" ("I Don't Want to Leave Here") at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, which officially kicked off on July 11. Fans were stunned on Friday when Benito kicked off his show with the unreleased song, creating immediate excitement and anticipation for its official release.

Cultural Significance and Production

The nearly 3-minute music video, recorded at the venue, transforms the stage into a visual homage to Bunny's Puerto Rican roots, with lush mountainous landscapes and Taino-inspired dancers weaving through the scene, wearing beige colors with straw accents. There was also a ceiba-like tree at the right side of the stage — Puerto Rico's national tree and a cultural symbol.

The song's title translates to "Barbed Wire" in English, with Bad Bunny singing "Me amarraste el corazón con alambre 'e púa" ("You tied my heart with barbed wire"). The track showcases his signature reggaeton style with seductive lyrics and high-energy production that has become his trademark.

Residency Context

The 30-night concert residency runs from July 11 to September 14, 2025, with each weekend performance at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, one of the most famous venues in the Caribbean. The first nine shows of his residency are performed exclusively for Puerto Rican residents, while the rest will invite fans from around the world in a larger effort to promote the island's rich culture.

Looking Ahead

Bad Bunny's residency is scheduled through mid-September and will be followed by an international tour running from November through July 2026. The artist also has upcoming film projects, including "Happy Gilmore 2" with Adam Sandler and Darren Aronofsky's "Caught Stealing."

"ALAMBRE PúA" is now available for streaming on all major platforms, continuing Bad Bunny's streak of chart-topping releases and cementing his status as one of reggaeton's most innovative artists.
