Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and his family were unharmed after a home invasion at their residence in Tredyffrin Township, Pennsylvania, early Saturday morning, Yahoo Sports reported. The break-in happened around 5 a.m. in the Malvern section of the township, in Chester County.
Multiple suspects were involved, though only one entered the house; all fled before police arrived. "Our main concern is that the residents of that home at the time were unharmed, which they were," Tredyffrin Township Police Captain Tyler Moyer said, according to ESPN. Investigators believe nothing was taken from the home.
The Chester County District Attorney's office said it was "incredibly grateful that the Barkley family was not injured" and asked the public for help identifying the suspects, including footage from home security cameras around the time of the break-in. Police have released a photo of a white SUV believed to be connected to the incident and are investigating a possible link to a pattern of burglaries targeting professional athletes' homes in recent years.
Barkley, the 2024 AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year, is entering his third season with the Eagles and has spent this offseason adjusting to a new under-center rushing scheme installed by offensive coordinator Sean Mannion.
