Nike's newest Air Max silhouette gets its first collaboration from the one person you'd expect: Hiroshi Fujiwara. The Fragment Design x Nike Air Liquid Max arrives in an all-black colorway under the "Fragment Concept Testing" banner — the same experimental framework Fujiwara used for his Mind 001 and Mind 002 drops earlier this month. It releases globally on April 3 via SNKRS and select retail partners, with an early drop at Fragment retail on March 31. Retail is $225.
The Air Liquid Max itself is the new silhouette Nike built its Air Max Day 2026 around. The design draws from the poison dart frog — reflected in the three-layer nanoprint mesh upper and the full-length contoured Air pod sole unit, which Nike describes as point-loaded and engineered to mimic the sensation of walking on air. The general release colorways hit on March 26; Fragment's version follows a week later, which is both an intentional sequencing move and a status signal. You learn the silhouette first, then you earn the collaboration.
Fujiwara's take is characteristically restrained. The triple-black upper runs through a textured mesh with chrome Swooshes on the lateral side. "Fragment Concept Testing" appears in white text near the ankle collar. The insoles are stamped with Fragment's double lightning bolt logo in white on blue. The Air pods, rendered in a dark translucent gloss, carry "Liquid Max" and "SP26 — MNSRUN" text directly on the cushioning units. There are no loud design moves — just enough Fragment DNA to distinguish the pair from the in-line without overwhelming the silhouette.
The SKU is IQ8601-001. Fragment collabs operate at Tier 0 — limited inventory, high demand, SNKRS draw most likely. Secondary market will move immediately. If you're planning to buy at retail, have SNKRS set up and notifications on before April 3.
