Sunday is a baseball day. Fifteen MLB games on the board, almost all of them in the afternoon, bookended by a WNBA matinee in the Bay and a primetime NL Central scrap in St. Louis. The one to circle is in Los Angeles, where the Phillies and Dodgers settle a three-game set that doubles as an NLDS rematch from last October.
Marquee: Phillies at Dodgers, NLDS rematch rubber match (4:10 PM EDT, ESPN)
Philadelphia took Saturday 4-3 to snap the Dodgers' win streak, so this finale decides the series. On paper it is a mismatch. Rookie Andrew Painter (1-5, 5.40) draws the defending champs, while Los Angeles hands the ball to Yoshinobu Yamamoto (4-4, 3.09), who is coming off back-to-back seven-inning starts. Painter has gone at least six innings in nine of his ten career starts, so the line is uglier than the stuff. The Dodgers are 37-21 and own the best World Series odds on the board. The Phillies, 30-28, are the team that has actually beaten them this weekend. National TV, defending champions, and a rookie trying to steal a series finale.

- Aces at Valkyries (3:30 PM EDT). The only basketball on the slate, and it is on NBC. The Aces bring their championship core into Golden State to face the young Valkyries in a Sunday afternoon matinee.
- Cubs at Cardinals (7:20 PM EDT). The nightcap and the only primetime game, on NBC and Peacock. An NL Central rivalry between two clubs within two games of each other, Chicago at 32-27 and St. Louis at 30-26. The Cubs send out Jordan Wicks, who is carrying a 16.62 ERA into the start.
- Yankees at Athletics (4:05 PM EDT). New York closes a road set against the relocated A's in Sacramento. A get-right spot for a Yankees lineup that owns the second-best World Series odds on the board.
- Blue Jays at Orioles (12:15 PM EDT). First pitch of the entire day at 12:15 in Baltimore. An AL East matinee to set the tone before the afternoon slate fills in.
- Diamondbacks at Mariners (4:10 PM EDT). Bryce Miller and his 2.25 ERA is the best pitching line on the board today. Seattle (30-29) carries one of the shortest World Series prices outside the Dodgers and Yankees.
- Braves at Reds (1:40 PM EDT). An afternoon game in Cincinnati with playoff-picture stakes for an Atlanta club trying to climb back into the National League race.
