Editor's note: the only line below comes straight from Vegas, not our gut, and for now just the marquee game carries a number. For the full slate with live scores, broadcast info, and injury reports, pull up watch.uristocrat.com.
Thursday is a baseball day first. Nine MLB games run from a 1:35 PM matinee in Boston all the way to a 9:40 PM nightcap in the Bay, with a four-game Mets-Phillies grudge series opening in primetime. But the single most-watched event tips at 7:30 PM, when Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever host the team playing the best ball in the league not named the Liberty. Here is what is worth your remote.
Marquee: Atlanta Dream at Indiana Fever (7:30 PM EDT, Prime Video)
Clark is listed probable with back soreness, which means nothing new. This is the tenth straight game she has carried that tag on the day-before report, and she has been upgraded to available every single time. Expect her on the floor. The matchup is the draw: Atlanta rolls in at 9-4 and clicking on both ends, Indiana sits 9-5 and a slight home favorite, and the national window puts the most popular player in the sport against a genuine contender. Two top-half offenses, a close number, and a building East rivalry. If you watch one thing tonight, watch this.
Vegas line: Indiana Fever -1.5, total 173.5, moneyline Fever -122 / Dream +102 (ESPN).
Also tonight
- New York Mets at Philadelphia Phillies (6:40 PM EDT). The marquee baseball game of the night and the opener of a four-game NL East series at Citizens Bank Park. Sean Manaea takes the ball for New York against Aaron Nola, two veterans both fighting their ERAs. National coverage on MLB Network.
- Minnesota Twins at Texas Rangers (2:35 PM EDT). The day's ESPN national window. A getaway-day game in Arlington between two clubs trying to stay in the AL playoff picture. Good one to have on if you are at a desk in the afternoon.
- Chicago White Sox at New York Yankees (7:05 PM EDT). The Bronx hosts a rebuilding Chicago club. Lopsided on paper, but a chance to watch the Yankees lineup tee off at home on YES.
- San Francisco Giants at Atlanta Braves (7:15 PM EDT). Two storied franchises with postseason ambitions meet at Truist Park. A real test for both pitching staffs and one of the better interleague-feeling NL matchups on the board.
- Baltimore Orioles at Seattle Mariners (4:10 PM EDT). A late-afternoon West Coast game pitting two young, athletic rosters against each other at T-Mobile Park. Worth a look once the day games wrap.
- Toronto Blue Jays at Boston Red Sox (1:35 PM EDT). The early bird. An AL East matinee at Fenway to start your viewing day before the rest of the slate fills in.
The thread tonight is range. You can open with a Fenway matinee, ride the ESPN game through the afternoon, settle into a Mets-Phillies rivalry opener at dinner, and flip to Caitlin Clark for the headliner at 7:30. Set the lineup at watch.uristocrat.com.
