Fourteen MLB games and a three-game WNBA slate on a Friday in June. The headliner is in Atlanta, where the most dominant pitcher in baseball right now faces a Braves lineup that is held together with tape.
Marquee: Brewers at Braves, two division leaders (7:15 PM ET, MLB.TV)
Jacob Misiorowski has been the story of the season. The Brewers right-hander leads MLB in ERA (1.34) and strikeouts (131), and he is coming off a 95-pitch complete game where he gave up one hit and struck out 15. Friday is his first career start against Atlanta, and he draws a Braves team that is banged up. Spencer Strider, Sean Murphy, and a long list of arms are on the shelf, and Ronald Acuña Jr. is only now working back. Martín Pérez (2.90 ERA) has quietly been one of Atlanta's steadier starters, but this one comes down to whether anyone can touch Miz. Both clubs sit atop their divisions at 45-27 and 46-27, so there is more here than the pitching.

- Mystics at Liberty (7:30 PM ET). New York is 11-4 and running the Eastern Conference. Washington comes in at 6-7 as the underdog at Barclays Center. On ION.
- Padres at Rangers (8:05 PM ET). Two clubs trying to climb back into their division races meet in Arlington. The Padres (38-35) and Rangers (35-39) both need to string wins together before the deadline talk gets loud.
- Lynx at Valkyries (10:00 PM ET). Minnesota owns the best record in the WNBA at 12-3. Golden State, the expansion team nobody expected to be 10-5, hosts them in the late window.
- Orioles at Dodgers (10:10 PM ET). The Dodgers own the best record in baseball at 48-27 and get the Orioles, who at 35-41 are scuffling through a lost first half. It is the latest start on the board, so it is the one to leave on after the East Coast games wrap.
The thread on a baseball-heavy Friday is one arm in Atlanta. Misiorowski has turned every fifth day into appointment viewing, and a banged-up Braves club is the kind of test that either extends the run or ends it. Around it, two of the WNBA's best in the Lynx and Liberty, and the Dodgers closing the night on the West Coast.
