The Mets (34-41) walked into Citizens Bank Park and took the opener 6-4, and now they get the hard part. Cristopher Sánchez has been the best pitcher in this rivalry all year. He is 8-3 with a 1.82 ERA, 116 strikeouts in 99 innings, and a 50-plus inning scoreless streak earlier this season that set a franchise record. The Phillies (40-35) sit second in the NL East and need this one to even the weekend. New York counters with Freddy Peralta (5-5, 3.90), who has the stuff to keep it close but has to navigate a Phillies lineup that does damage at home. The Mets are buried in the division standings, so a series win in Philadelphia is the kind of thing that changes how the next month feels.

- Padres at Rangers (4:05 PM ET). San Diego heads to Arlington for a late-afternoon interleague-flavored matchup of two teams that need to start stacking wins. The Padres' pitching travels; the question is whether the bats show up in Texas heat.
- Guardians at Astros (7:15 PM ET, FOX). The other national primetime game. Houston hosts a Cleveland team that lives and dies by pitching and timely contact. If you want a second FOX game alongside the marquee, this is it.
- Orioles at Dodgers (10:10 PM ET). The best late-night option. Baltimore in Chavez Ravine against a Dodgers club that is always must-watch under the lights. Worth staying up for if you're on the East Coast.
- Red Sox at Mariners (10:10 PM ET). Boston closes a road trip in Seattle, where T-Mobile Park tends to favor whoever has the better arm that night. A quieter game with real wild-card implications down the line.
The thread running through Saturday is simple: a lot of teams in the muddy middle trying to separate. The Phillies want to protect their place near the top of the NL East while the Mets try to climb out of the basement, and behind the two FOX games a dozen clubs are just trying to bank a win on a long June day.
