Indiana lost Game 1 by 17, with A'ja Wilson dropping a playoff-career-high 38 points and Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell combining to shoot 10-for-33 from the field. The Fever have to win tonight at Gainbridge Fieldhouse or the series is over. ESPN's matchup predictor gives Indiana a slight edge to even the series, but Las Vegas closes out a lot of these.

- Red Sox at Yankees (8:00 PM ET, NBC). Wild Card Series Game 1. New York finished 93-68 to take the top AL wild card seed; Boston has to win three games in New York's building to advance.
- Phillies at Braves (2:00 PM ET, NBC). Atlanta won the NL East at 94-68 and hosts Philadelphia, which clinched the third NL wild card spot with a dramatic finish to the regular season.
- White Sox at Astros (5:00 PM ET, Peacock/NBCSN). Houston opens its Wild Card Series at Daikin Park in the day's first postseason first pitch.
- Cubs at Padres (10:00 PM ET, Peacock/NBCSN). A rematch of last year's NL Wild Card Series, this time at Petco Park, and the nightcap on the day's four-series slate.
- Minnesota Lynx at New York Liberty (8:30 PM ET, USA Network/CNBC). New York took Game 1 and can close out the series at Barclays Center; Minnesota needs a road win to survive.
Baseball's postseason kicks off for real tonight, and Indiana's season could end before it's over. Four Wild Card openers and an elimination game inside a five-hour window makes this one of the fuller sports nights of the year.
