No MLB today. No Friday NFL. The slate belongs to the WNBA semifinals, where both series shift to the road team's building for Game 3.
A programming note: the picks model that will carry a line on every game isn't live yet. Until then, only the marquee gets a sourced Vegas number. Everything else is a plain preview.
Marquee: Valkyries at Aces
9:30 p.m. ET, Michelob ULTRA Arena, Peacock/NBCSN
Las Vegas swept the regular-season series 3-0, then lost Game 1 at home, 71-60, with A'ja Wilson scoring 24 and guard Jewell Loyd leaving with a leg injury. Golden State is a second-year franchise that just finished its first winning season, and it's one win from putting the three-time-champion Aces in a 2-1 hole on their own floor. Gabby Williams has been the Valkyries' closer all postseason, including the Game 3 comeback that eliminated Dallas in the first round. Wilson is averaging a playoff career-high 30 points a game for Las Vegas.
ESPN's odds page has the Aces as 3.5-point favorites at home, with a total of 156.5 and Las Vegas at -180 on the moneyline against Golden State's +150.
Also today: Dream at Liberty
7:30 p.m. ET, Barclays Center, ESPN2
Atlanta took Game 1 in New York, 92-82, without leading scorer Allisha Gray, who's been ruled out with a hand injury. That's the fourth-seeded Dream playing without their best player and still up a game on the defending-champion Liberty. No sourced line for this one yet, but New York can't afford to go down 2-0 at home.
