The WNBA Finals start tonight, the Guardians can put themselves one win from the World Series, and a loaded Big Ten Saturday decides a chunk of the playoff picture. Here's what's worth your time.

Marquee: Atlanta Dream at Golden State Valkyries, WNBA Finals Game 1 (3:30 PM ET, NBC/Peacock)

Golden State is two seasons old and already playing for a championship. The Valkyries swept the defending champion Las Vegas Aces in the semifinals after beating Dallas in the first round, and they'll host Games 1, 2, and if needed 5 and 7 at Chase Center. Atlanta is making its first Finals trip since 2013 and hasn't lost a single playoff game, a 10-game run built around Angel Reese, who was traded in from Chicago and voted the league's Defensive Player of the Year. Allisha Gray is questionable for the Dream after a hand procedure; Temi Rupert is out for Golden State. Records say Atlanta should be favored. Vegas disagrees.

Vegas line: Golden State -2.5 (-108), total 154.5, moneyline Valkyries -142 / Dream +120. Source: ESPN.

Also tonight

  • Tampa Bay Rays at Cleveland Guardians (8:00 PM ET, TBS). Cleveland leads the ALCS 2-1 after a Petey Halpin home run decided Game 3, and a win tonight puts the Guardians one game from the World Series. Tampa Bay's lineup has managed one run across the last two games and needs an answer fast.
  • Ohio State Buckeyes at Indiana Hoosiers (12:00 PM ET, FOX). Two unbeaten Big Ten teams meet in Bloomington with real playoff seeding implications attached.
  • Penn State Nittany Lions at Michigan Wolverines (3:30 PM ET, CBS). Penn State is trying to salvage a season that's gone sideways against a Michigan team that controls its own playoff path with a win.
  • Edmonton Oilers at Utah Mammoth (10:00 PM ET, ESPN+). Edmonton is without Zach Hyman and Jake Dickinson tonight, thinning out a top six that's already feeling the absence.
  • UFC Fight Night: Buckley vs. Malott (Paramount+). A middleweight scrap headlines a card built for anyone who wants violence between football windows.

Three different sports hand out their biggest stakes of the week today: a title series tips off in the Bay, a pennant hangs on nine innings in Cleveland, and the Big Ten reshuffles its playoff math by sundown. Pick your window.
