Jalen Carter Returns to Practice After Missing Eagles Training Camp with Shoulder Injury

Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter returned to practice on Monday after missing the first three sessions of training camp with a shoulder injury. Carter, who made the Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro last year in his second season, suffered the shoulder injury at some point before the start of camp last Wednesday. The Eagles listed him as limited for Monday's practice, marking his first on-field participation since organized team activities in the spring. Head coach Nick Sirianni expressed his enthusiasm about Carter's return, stating before practice that he looked forward to having the star defensive lineman back on the field.

Despite being limited in his return, Carter had remained engaged throughout his absence, watching practices from the sidelines and even participating in team sprints to the end zone with his defensive teammates after certain repetitions. The 23-year-old All-Pro had an outstanding 2024 season, recording 42 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in the regular season, along with nine tackles and two sacks in the playoffs. Carter's return provides a significant boost to the Eagles' defensive line as they prepare for the upcoming season, with the team having shown no signs of great concern about his condition during his brief absence from full participation.
