Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo scored 83 points against the Washington Wizards on March 10, 2026, while wearing an unreleased Air Jordan 4028 — and Jordan Brand marked the performance with two personalized player-exclusive pairs, SneakerNews reported. The 4028s carry his name printed on the footbed, visible through a translucent icy outsole, with the date "3/10/26" embroidered on the underside of the tongue.

Adebayo's 83 points came on 20-of-43 shooting with a 36-of-43 night from the free-throw line — an NBA record for makes and attempts in a single game — as Miami beat Washington 150-129. It's the second-highest single-game scoring total in league history, trailing only Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game in 1962 and passing Kobe Bryant's 81 points from 2006. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra kept feeding Adebayo the ball once he passed 70 points, while Washington countered with double- and triple-teams and both sides used intentional fouls to manage the clock in the final minutes.

Michael Jordan texted Adebayo directly after the game — "Just congratulations," Adebayo said, adding that the brevity fit Jordan's character. The Air Jordan 4028 pairs Nike's Air Jordan 40 tooling with an Air Jordan 28-inspired upper, including a zippered forefoot shroud that conceals bold "2" and "3" graphics until unzipped. The public colorway, "Black/Volt" (style code IR2084-001), is expected to release this summer at $205 through Nike and select retailers. It joins a season of on-court performances converted into player-exclusive product, following Victor Wembanyama's Nike GT Cut 4 "Gold Panther" PE earlier in the year.
