Jordan Brand Unveils The Triangle Performance Basketball Shoe Launching July 2

Jordan Brand announced a new low-cut performance basketball shoe called The Triangle on May 21, with a July 2, 2026 launch at jordan.com and select retailers. Three colorways drop on day one: Baltic Blue, Volt, and Hyper Punch. Cameron Boozer and Sarah Strong are leading the brand's rollout.

What it actually is

The Triangle is a non-signature performance basketball shoe. The construction: ZoomX foam in the forefoot, an Air Zoom unit in the heel, a carbon-fiber woven upper, a Cushlon 3.0 carrier, an injection-molded shank for midfoot stability, and a Hart Rubber 2.0 herringbone outsole. That spec sheet is closer to a Nike Sabrina 3 or Kobe AD than to anything currently on the Jordan retail shelf.

Leo Chang — the designer behind the KD line and Senior Creative Director on the project — said the Triangle "contains ZoomX and Air Zoom innovation that is unmatched for the performance basketball market."

The category gap this fills

Jordan Brand has had a hole in the performance basketball lineup for a decade. The signature line (Luka, Tatum, Zion) is where the marketing budget goes, but most active players — high school, college, rec league — buy team-shoe-tier product. Nike has been winning that segment with the Sabrina, the Ja, the GT Cut, and the Kobe family. The Triangle is the first serious Jordan Brand answer.

The three launch colorways are loud-but-versatile, the carbon-fiber upper signals premium-tech, and Boozer/Strong are athletes whose audiences skew younger than the established Jordan signature roster. The math reads like Jordan Brand's first real shot at the team-shoe market since the early 2000s. Coming the same week as the AJ12 Bloodline retail push, the Triangle is the part of Jordan Brand's 2026 strategy that points forward rather than back.

What to watch

Pricing has not been announced. If the Triangle lands at $140-$150, it is a direct shot at the Sabrina 3 and the Ja line. If it lands at $180+, Jordan Brand is positioning it as premium and ceding the volume play. The other test is allocation — whether high school and college team-equipment programs pick up the shoe in 2026-27.
