KAWS is putting his fingerprints on two of baseball’s most valuable franchises. The artist has reimagined New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers iconography for a KAWS x MLB Collection with Fanatics and Complex, stamping his signature XX motif and Companion character across classic team branding, Fanatics and Complex announced. The drop is timed to the two clubs’ three-game series at Yankee Stadium from July 17–19.
The collection spans Nike jerseys, T-shirts, hoodies, and fitted and snapback caps, plus Rawlings baseballs and Marucci bats carrying the Companion character, and a limited run of Topps trading cards featuring Companion with parallel editions and randomly inserted KAWS autographs, WWD reported.
It debuts in person at Fanatics Fest in New York from July 16–19 and at the Yankees’ stadium team stores on July 16, then drops globally online on July 20 at 12 p.m. EST via Fanatics and Complex.com, with the MLB flagship in New York, MLBShop and Nike also carrying it. A Dodger Stadium release follows July 31.

The read: this is the logical endpoint of KAWS’s decades-long arc from Brooklyn subway tags to blue-chip galleries to mass licensing — his XX now functions as a luxury-adjacent streetwear stamp that MLB can bolt onto heritage IP and sell at scale.
