The shoe
The Novalis Gel-Teremoa II is the sequel to one of the best sneakers Kiko has put out with Asics — a silhouette that took the Gel-Teremoa's geometry and rebuilt it with the kind of structural detail that turned the partnership into a genuine fashion-week regular. The II carries every weird, deliberate decision forward: an armored honeycomb mesh upper, a reptile-print heel tab that sits where most brands would put a logo, and a repositioned visible GEL pod that doesn't pretend to be doing performance work. The midsole drops low at the forefoot and stays chunky at the heel — Asics' actual technical language pulled apart and reassembled with a designer's sense of proportion.
The two colorways do different things. Moss Stone/Deep Forest is the obvious win for the Auralee/Lemaire reader — earth tones, restrained, photographs beautifully against a wool coat. Dark Gull Grey/Black is the more architectural pair, the one that reads correctly in a CDG-leaning wardrobe and pairs effortlessly with Margiela Tabis or anything from the Phoebe Philo orbit. Both are made of real materials, made carefully, and meant to wear as objects.
Why this is the month's fashion pick
The Kiko x Asics line has, over five years, become the most-credible designer sneaker collaboration outside of Salomon's collab program — not because the shoes are loud, but because they're consistently the ones fashion editors actually wear. Where the Hender Schemes and Maison Mihara Yasuhiros get photographed and shelved, Kiko's Asics get walked through Paris. The Novalis Gel-Teremoa II continues that line, and at $250 it's priced under the new wave of designer sneakers crossing $400 — call it the value proposition in the segment.
It also lands on a Saturday stacked with traditional-sneaker drops (the AJ12 Bloodline, the Kobe AF1 Denim hangover), which makes the Kiko an easier grab. The audiences barely overlap.
The drop
Kiko Kostadinov's own webstore opens first, with Asics and DSM following. Both colorways will sell through — Kiko's Asics releases have had a tight retail-to-resale arc lately, and the II carries enough momentum from the original Novalis to expect SOLD OUT banners by end of weekend.
